Elite Fitness Studio opened in 2019 as a training studio that specializes in small group training, individual personal training, and performance training. Elite's professional staff works with a wide range of people, including the aging population, the dedicated athlete striving to improve, and everything in-between. Elite Studio is staffed by certified personal trainers to help ensure the highest quality of training. This location also has beginner and intermediate classes available as well as RMR (Resting Metabolic Rate) testing. Since we are under the same ownership as Ability Physical Therapy, we have the unique ability to offer free injury consults if needed by any of our members. We are also able to refer our members to a great massage therapist, also located next door at Ability Physical Therapy!

Eric is passionate about working with clients to insure that their training sessions are tailored to fit their individual goals.
Eric studied Exercise Science at Western Illinois University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree. Eric has worked as a personal trainer since 2012, working with a variety of client ages and demographics. He earned his Associate’s degree from Kirkwood Community College as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 2016. Working with a variety of demographics and age ranges, Eric is very motivated to bring out the best version of his clients, viewing health and wellness as a big picture idea for achieving fitness of the mind and body. Eric lives in Iowa City with his family, where he enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active.
Ian loves the combined gratification of helping those in need from an emergency side with firefighting full-time with the City of Bettendorf Fire Department, as well as the prevention side with health risk reduction through personal training.
Ian was a division 1 athlete in swimming and also played rugby at the University of Northern Iowa. Upon graduating from the undergraduate program at the University of Northern Iowa, Ian began to pursue his passion for learning and coaching health and human performance. Ian entered the exercise science graduate program while working as a graduate assistant to the Men’s and Woman’s swimming and diving teams as well as personal training at the University’s wellness center in 1997-‘98.
Following graduate school, Ian began working as a strength and conditioning coach in professional football. First with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1998-‘00 as an assistant, then as a head S&C coach for NFL Europe’s Rhein Fire and the XFL’s Orlando Rage. With the desire to work with other populations and need for a more stable environment than that of professional sports, Ian continued to coach, manage and personal train at several health clubs in the Florida area. It was at this time that Ian began to pursue his other passion as a Firefighter/EMT in 2005. Ian continued to personal train and eventually started a Triathlon/ personal training/CrossFit business with his wife Denise in 2011. Ian and Denise have since sold their successful training business seeking more quality time with family. With a drive to continue training, Ian has recently began his journey with Elite Fitness Studio in an effort to serve others in the Solon area.
Sydney loves working with all fitness levels and ages. She is passionate about helping clients to not only achieve their goals, but to improve their quality of life while building a personal relationship with each client.
Sydney McVay earned her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science at Monmouth College where she played volleyball. While still in college, Sydney interned at Elite Fitness for several weeks. She was hired as a personal trainer in July of 2021. Sydney found her love for personal training while working along side the Monmouth College athletic trainers. Her main focuses are injury prevention, building back strength after injuries, and improving clients quality of life through fitness.
Jill has over 24 years of experience in the fitness industry and is also a certified nutrition coach.
Helping others discover their unique design is what gets Jill excited about being a trainer. She will teach you how your body was created to move regardless of your fitness level. Through her guidance and functional fitness training, you will discover long term success as you build your strength both inside and out.
